Residential Synthetic Grass Installation
Backyards, front yards, pool surrounds and play zones — premium Australian-made turf, installed properly, for Sydney and Illawarra homes.
Residential is the biggest slice of what we do. Sydney homes get punished — kids, dogs, pool parties, summer heat, water restrictions that kick in just when the lawn needs watering most. Natural turf rarely survives the combination, and when it fails it tends to fail everywhere at once: muddy patches by the back door, brown strips along the side return, bald zones under the trampoline, and a once-a-year reseed that barely holds on until November.
A properly installed synthetic lawn is the practical answer. It looks genuinely green year-round, handles concentrated foot and paw traffic without thinning, drains faster than natural turf ever will, and doesn't need anything from you beyond a rinse and a brush-up every few months. We install for homes across Sydney, the Sutherland Shire, the Hills District and the Illawarra — courtyards, full backyards, front yards, pool surrounds, pet runs and play zones all get the same spec standard.
Who we typically install for
Most of our residential clients fall into one of three camps. The first is families — young kids, a dog, a trampoline, maybe a pool — where natural lawn has already been tried once or twice and it hasn't worked. The second is design-conscious owners in Sydney's premium suburbs who want a perfectly kept lawn without the weekly maintenance cycle, usually around pool surrounds, heritage terrace courtyards or landscaped front yards. The third is renovators and investors finishing a project where a consistently green, low-maintenance lawn is the last piece that pulls a backyard together.
Whatever the scenario, the install approach doesn't really change. We assess the site, spec the base and the product for the ground and climate, write you a clear quote, and come back to build it — typically in one or two working days.
How we install a residential lawn
Every install starts the same way: on site, with a measuring tape and a proper look at the ground. We check the soil (clay, sand or imported fill), the existing drainage pattern, the slope, tree-root pressure, access, and the edges we'll finish against. That site survey is what the quote is based on — and it's how we avoid the surprise extras that budget installs run into when something turns up underneath the lawn they weren't expecting.
The install itself runs in four steps. We strip and dispose of the existing turf plus anything the ground is hiding — weed mat, old pavers, construction debris. We excavate and compact a sub-base to 75–150mm depending on the ground and the job, grade a drainage fall, and top with a finer crushed-stone bedding. We roll out the turf, cut to fit, seam it invisibly where joins are needed, and fix it at the perimeter with batten, pin or masonry edging depending on what it meets. Finally we infill to weight and brush the pile up for a natural finish.
A typical residential job is one to two days on site. Larger multi-zone yards or tight-access jobs can run three to four. We'll give you a clear written quote and timeline before work begins, so you know exactly what is included.
Residential Synthetic Grass Installation Services
Backyard Makeovers
Full rear-yard installs built around kids, dogs, entertaining and actual use — proper sub-base, proper drainage, edged cleanly against paving, garden beds and pool coping.
Front Yards & Kerb Appeal
Street-facing installs that sharpen the whole façade — tight edges, a natural tone profile and a finish that still looks immaculate five summers in.
Pool Surrounds
Chlorine and salt-tolerant turf with permeable underlay and non-slip backing. Drains fast, stays usable straight after rain, and doesn't rot at the coping edge.
Kids' Play Zones
Optional shock-pad underlay where a certified fall-height rating is needed. Soft, mud-free, and tolerant of trampolines, goal posts and everything that tends to kill natural lawn.
Pet-Friendly Yards
Open-weave pet backing, antimicrobial infill and a free-draining base — urine rinses through rather than pooling, and the dog can use the yard without killing it.
Courtyards & Narrow Spaces
Tight terrace courtyards, side returns and awkward shapes where natural lawn can't establish. A precise install makes the whole space usable year-round.
