Sports Area Synthetic Grass Installation
Cricket strips, soccer and football training zones, tennis, bowls and multi-sport areas — synthetic grass specified to the sport, built to survive club-level use.
Sports synthetic grass isn't one product — it's at least five, each tuned to the sport it carries. Cricket needs a different pile and backing to soccer; bowls needs a different infill to tennis. A proper sports install starts with that distinction: pick the right surface for the actual use, then build the base to suit. Anything else is a compromise that shows up as uneven bounce, premature wear or a playing surface the club or school stops being proud of within a couple of seasons.
We install sports synthetic grass for community clubs, schools, training facilities, councils and private clients across Sydney, the Hills, the Sutherland Shire, Wollongong and the Illawarra. Every job starts with a sport-specific product conversation and a site assessment that drives the base build — because cricket pitches, football grids, bowls greens and multi-sport zones all need different things from the ground underneath.
Who uses sports synthetic turf
Sports installs cover a broad range — community clubs (rugby, soccer, cricket, tennis, bowls, hockey), schools running multi-sport PE programs, private training facilities and academies, and councils upgrading public recreation grounds. Beyond that we handle backyard practice surfaces for serious athletes wanting a home training zone — cricket nets, mini-pitches, hitting walls, practice bowls ends.
Each sport has its own surface requirements, which is what separates a sports install from a standard lawn install. We spec the pile height, density, backing and infill to the specific sport the surface will carry — not to a single generic 'sports turf' grade.
How we specify and build sports installs
The first decision is the product — and the right product varies by sport. Cricket pitches need short, dense, low-pile turf with minimal bounce variance; football and soccer training zones need a longer, infilled pile that tolerates studs and slide tackles; tennis courts run a different grain entirely; lawn bowls needs a specific short-pile, tightly-knitted surface with a particular infill weight for roll speed. We'll walk through sport-specific options before we quote so you get the right surface for the actual use.
The base build then reflects the sport. Cricket and bowls need a laser-levelled, compacted base with negligible fall — any variation telegraphs into the play surface. Football and multi-sport zones need slightly more fall for drainage and a deeper aggregate base to handle the impact load. Tennis needs consistent fall for ball bounce plus surface grading for water runoff. We spec all of this during the site assessment rather than treating every sports job the same.
Line marking is inlaid where needed (cut-in white turf rather than painted lines) so it doesn't fade or wear under heavy use. Infill goes in at the weight the sport dictates. Every sports install is covered by the 8-year Australian manufacturer warranty and our workmanship cover.
